Do you know anyone who is filled with fear? Sometimes we call it worry, but it's still fear. Is there an antidote? A shepherd who became a king wrote that he trusted in God, and through the unfailing love of the Most High he would not be shaken (Psalms 21:7). As he guarded his own sheep, he relied on the perfect love of his Shepherd to protect and guide him.
When I've experienced debilitating worries, I've often prayed this next scripture from Psalms 143:8. I want to remember to do so whenever any bad news arrives. “Let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing love, for to you I have entrusted my life.” As I've entrusted my life to Him more and more, He has shown the unfailingness of His love countless times. No mistakes of mine or anyone else can stop His powerful love. Good news from Jesus outweighs all the bad news in this world. He is the Most High.
Dear friends in Ireland gave me a plaque with a lamb on it that says, “His lamb I am.” It reminds me of the words in Isaiah 40:10-11, “He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart; He gently leads..."
I’m eager to go where He leads. It's always from darkness to light. He leads from fears and worries into trusting and resting in His arms of unshakable, unstoppable, unconditional love.
